The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gap shoots in for a double leg but Boubeez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Boubeez paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nice uppercut there from Boubeez.
Boubeez cracks Gap with a good jab.
Gap throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gap uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Boubeez.
Gap changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boubeez tries to avoid it but Gap manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boubeez to the ground. Boubeez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boubeez changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Boubeez throws out a powerful jab.
Boubeez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Gap closes the distance and clinches up with Boubeez, looking for a takedown. Gap pushes Boubeez against the cage but Boubeez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Boubeez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Gap closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boubeez circles away.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Boubeez, as that shot connected.
Gap ducks under a wild hook from Boubeez.
Gap looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Gap takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Boubeez throws a hook to the side of Gap's head but Gap sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Boubeez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Boubeez lands a glancing blow to the side of Gap's head.
Boubeez tries a low kick but Gap avoids it.
Boubeez is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Gap had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Boubeez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gap doesn't seem bothered though.

Good work by Gap as he checks the leg kick.
Gap shoots for a takedown but Boubeez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boubeez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gap's head backwards.
A decent looking cross lands there for Boubeez.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gap fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gap is breathing heavily.
Gap changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boubeez tries to avoid it but Gap manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boubeez to the ground. Boubeez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boubeez lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Iliek Boubeez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Gap might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Gap slips under a jab.
Boubeez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gap.
Boubeez jabs Gap right on the nose. Gap blinks but takes it well.

Gap shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Boubeez is trying to defend but Gap finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Boubeez regains full guard. Nicely done.

Gap wants to control from the top but Boubeez keeps moving.

Gap lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Boubeez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Boubeez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Boubeez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gap!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boubeez trying to control but Gap is having none of it.
Boubeez sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

It looks like Patrick Gap has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gap tries to lock up and control but Boubeez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The referee warns Gap that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gap is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Boubeez lands a big shot there that rocks Gap but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Patrick Gap's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boubeez cracks Gap with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
