Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brett Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Archie Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Archie Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice uppercut there from Duncan.
Brett Cain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duncan throws a shot to the body.
Duncan lands with a cross.


It looks like Brett Cain has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Duncan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cain.
Cain shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Duncan as he jumps to the side.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Cain throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Duncan was covering up waiting for the punch and Cain finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Cain is breathing heavily.
Duncan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cain is controlling him.

Cain is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Duncan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Duncan has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cain has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Duncan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cain is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Duncan is looking to stand up but Cain won't let him.
Cain looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Duncan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cain looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Duncan works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Duncan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Duncan lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Duncan with a flurry of punches that miss.
Duncan is looking to stand up but Cain won't let him.

Duncan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Duncan tries to stand but Cain is controlling from the bottom.

Cain manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Duncan is trying to stand.
Duncan is working to get back to half guard.

Cain is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Duncan has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Duncan!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Duncan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cain with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Cain keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Duncan tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Cain moves into full guard.

Cain working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duncan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duncan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Duncan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cain utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Duncan is looking to stand up but Cain won't let him.

Cain looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Duncan is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

so Duncan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Cain avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Duncan tries to stand but Cain is controlling from the bottom.

Cain working for submissions but it's allowed Duncan to get to half guard.

Cain is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Duncan pulls his head out easily.
Duncan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Duncan stands up out of the half guard.
Duncan lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Duncan's corner calls for a 1-2. Duncan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Duncan lands a left and a right that send Cain crashing to the mat, dazed. Duncan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Cain is rocked!
Duncan feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Cain crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Archie Duncan!
