The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Pinette.
Pinette slaps away a takedown attempt from Richards, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pinette is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Richards lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Pinette defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Richards.
No luck for Richards with that takedown attempt.

and Richards decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pinette's guard.

Richards is looking to work some ground and pound but Pinette has wrist control.

Richards is pushing down on Pinette's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pinette is fighting to maintain full guard but Richards has managed to sneak the leg through.

Richards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pinette sees it coming and defends easily.

Richards working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Pinette's thigh. Pinette counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Richards is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Pinette is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
