PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dele Obasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hammer might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Deftones - Prince. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hammer moves into range and clinches up with Obasi.
Hammer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Obasi backwards.
Obasi makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Obasi takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Obasi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hammer fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hammer with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Obasi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hammer can't do much from the bottom here.
Obasi is trying to ground and pound but Hammer uses the momentary lack of control by Obasi to regain half guard.
Hammer is looking to control Obasi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hammer avoid being mounted?

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Obasi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hammer looks a forlorn figure.

Obasi has control of Hammer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hammer regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Obasi is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Hammer frees his head nicely. Oh but Obasi has switched to an armbar! Hammer is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
