Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pat Marr!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watson avoids the body shot from Marr.
Marr just misses with a punch to the body.
Some wild striking there from Watson.
No luck for Marr with that takedown attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Marr. Watson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Marr throws a big shot that misses.
Watson misses with an uppercut.
Marr moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Marr throws a left and a right that both miss
and Watson counters with a straight right hand.
Marr throws a hook to the side of Watson's head but Watson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Watson staying out of range there.
A punch combination from Watson misses.
Marr connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Watson slips a jab from Marr.
Nice defenses there by Watson.
Tom Watson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marr throws a jab but it's blocked by Watson.
Watson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Marr.
Watson explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Watson throws a series of punches but Marr moves out of range.

Marr drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
An elbow from Marr crashes against the mat.
Marr misses with the ground and pound.
Watson tries to improve position but can't.

Marr tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marr has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Watson is trying to control Marr's posture but Marr avoids it.

Watson is in all sorts of trouble here.
Marr cracks Watson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Watson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Watson is working hard here to advance position.
Marr punishing his opponent with strikes.
Marr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Marr lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Marr thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marr connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Watson is rocked!

Marr goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Watson is on top in guard.
Marr looks gassed!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Watson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Watson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Watson passes Marr's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Watson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Marr is pressing down on Watson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Watson throws a big right hand that misses.
Watson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Watson trying to control the position from guard on top but Marr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Watson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Marr keeping moving, preventing Watson from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Marr wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Marr has managed to clinch.
Watson blocking some punches.
Marr is trying to drag Watson to the mat but Watson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Watson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Marr.
Tom Watson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pat Marr.
Marr tries a body shot but Watson blocks it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marr throws a head punch that misses.
Marr lands a body shot in the clinch.

Watson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Watson moves out of range of the strikes.
Marr changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pat Marr dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Marr uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Watson.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Watson!
Marr misses with a jab, cross combination.
Watson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Watson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Watson lands a head shot.
Watson throws a wild body kick that Marr sees coming a mile off.
A left and a right from Watson both land. Nice combination.


Marr is rocked!
Marr dives in and grabs Watson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Watson pushes down on Marr's head and hops out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marr misses with a two punch combination.
Marr throws a hook but Watson blocks it.
Watson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Watson lands with a right and another and another! Marr is in big trouble! Watson lands again and this time it's lights out for Marr! A quality knockout there for Watson.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tom Watson!
