Daigle is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The State of Massachusetts -- Dropkick Murphys. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Heikki Knihti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Daigle!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daigle avoids the head kick by Knihti.
Knihti misses with a head kick.
Daigle lands with a slapping head kick.


Knihti is rocked!
Daigle misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Oh Knihti is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Good work by Daigle as he checks the leg kick.
Knihti tries to bum rush Daigle with a series of wild strikes but Daigle uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Knihti seems to have got his legs back now.
Daigle checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Daigle feints and as Knihti raises his hands in defense, Daigle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Daigle drops back looking for a leg! Knihti is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Knihti manages to kick Daigle off! Daigle jumps back into Knihti's guard.
Knihti wants to stand but Daigle is controlling the position.
Knihti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Daigle wants to control from the top but Knihti keeps moving.
Daigle is pushing down on Knihti's leg trying to pass to half guard. Knihti is fighting to maintain full guard but Daigle has managed to sneak the leg through.

Daigle decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Knihti lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Knihti throws a head kick that misses
and Daigle counters with a head kick. That will keep Knihti thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Knihti rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Daigle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Daigle moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Daigle closes the distance and clinches.
Knihti is trying to break the clinch but Daigle has him pressed against the ropes.
Daigle prevents Knihti from breaking the clinch.
Knihti is breathing heavily.
Knihti wants to break free but Daigle has control.

Daigle breaks the clinch.

Daigle fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Knihti, pushing him back against the ropes.

Daigle has clasped his hands together around Knihti's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Knihti tries to improve position but can't.
Knihti tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Daigle presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Knihti can't escape the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Daigle looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Knihti keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Knihti is trying to stand up.
Knihti is looking to improve his position but Daigle isn't that keen on the idea.
Daigle working away from the top, dropping strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Daigle raining down shots from the mount!
Daigle trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Daigle breaks from Knihti's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Daigle is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Knihti can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Daigle looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Daigle landing strikes, looking to finish!
BOOM! Daigle connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Daigle fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Knihti is working to get back to half guard.
Knihti is working hard here to advance position.

Daigle with shots to the head and body - Knihti looks very uncomfortable down there.
Knihti knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Daigle on the ground.
Daigle wants to control the pace but Knihti is squirming around nicely.
Knihti swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Knihti is working to get back to half guard.
Knihti throwing hammer fists to the chest of Daigle. What's that going to do exactly?

Knihti is looking to improve his position but Daigle isn't that keen on the idea.
Knihti on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Knihti tries to get out of the position.
Knihti wants to use the ropes to get back to his feet here.

Knihti tries to reverse the position but Daigle maintains control.
Knihti flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Daigle lands a heavy elbow.
Daigle prevents Knihti from getting the reversal.
Daigle landing shots from mount.
Daigle pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Daigle has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Knihti's face.
Daigle controlling the pace for now.
Knihti is in a horrible position here. Daigle smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Knihti is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Daigle quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Daigle but it's paid off an Knihti is forced to tap! Nice work by Daigle.
