Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lobsta Mang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grey Te Whena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Te Whena has chosen Garden Knome - Barbarella as his entrance music. Grey Te Whena has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lobsta Mang's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lobsta Mang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Grey Te Whena!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Te Whena tries to clinch but Mang moves out of range.

Te Whena forces Mang back against the cage and clinches.
Come on Te Whena - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Te Whena throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mang blocks it with crossed arms.
Mang tries for a takedown. No joy.
Te Whena goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mang prevents it.
Mang gets underhooks to prevent Te Whena's takedown attempt.
Mang blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Mang.
Te Whena looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Te Whena misses with a knee strike.
Te Whena tries to pull guard but Mang won't allow it.
Lobsta Mang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grey Te Whena.
Mang is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Te Whena content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Mang pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Te Whena shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Te Whena creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mang sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Mang keeps Te Whena under control for a moment.

Te Whena tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Te Whena has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Te Whena misses with the ground and pound.

Mang avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Te Whena.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Te Whena landing strikes.
Te Whena in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Te Whena goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mang has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Te Whena but great work by Mang.

Mang working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Te Whena gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Lobsta Mang will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mang's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Te Whena is not content to let Mang control the position.
Te Whena has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mang moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Te Whena.
Te Whena is breathing heavily.

Mang scores with a couple of short elbows.
Te Whena is not content to let Mang control the position.
Mang misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Mang throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Mang thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Te Whena tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mang wants to control but Te Whena is keeping him busy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Te Whena fails with a takedown attempt.
Mang throws a body punch but Te Whena moves out of range.
Mang slips a jab from Te Whena.
Te Whena wants to clinch up but Mang keeps it at a distance.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mang.

Te Whena tries to clinch up.

Te Whena darts in trying to clinch
and Mang counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Te Whena throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Te Whena has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mang finds it's way round the side to connect with Te Whena's head.
A solid leg kick lands there for Mang.
Mang fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Te Whena cracks the inside of Mang's front leg.

and Mang counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Mang shoots in and bounces Te Whena off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

You can see the frustration on Te Whena's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Te Whena is desperately trying to improve his position but Mang has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lobsta Mang dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Mang lands with a nice combination. Te Whena backs away looking to recover.
Mang is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Te Whena is pressed up against the cage. Mang has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Te Whena down to the mat. Te Whena avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Mang displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Te Whena.

and Mang counters with a good, hard body kick but Te Whena shrugs it off.

A jab from Mang does it's job there.
Mang tries to bum rush Te Whena with a series of wild strikes but Te Whena uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mang moves into the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Mang.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Te Whena.
Mang stalls.

Mang pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mang clinches up with Te Whena and pushes him back against the cage.
Te Whena tries to stall but Mang uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Te Whena misses with a hook from the clinch.
