The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katanec blocks a head kick by Martyn.
Katanec tries a head kick but it misses.
Martyn leaves Katanec with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Katanec tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Martyn paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Martyn keeps Katanec at a distance using the push kick.
Katanec looks gassed!
Katanec shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Martyn defends it nicely.
Katanec fails with the takedown.
Thomas Martyn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Srecko Katanec.
A head kick lands from Martyn that sends Katanec to the canvas. Katanec tries to scramble back to his feet but Martyn brings him back down into side control.
Katanec is rocked!
It looks like Srecko Katanec has been cut.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Katanec gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Martyn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Katanec seems to have recovered his senses.
Martyn unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Katanec wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Martyn celebrates on the ropes and the crowd goes wild!
