Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Keli Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Weir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Keli Beast has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Beast tries to close the distance and clinch but Weir swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

No joy there for Weir, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Beast is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Weir pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beast stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weir swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Weir counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Beast thinking.

Weir feints and as Beast raises his hands in defense, Weir changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Beast clinches up with Weir and pushes him back against the cage.
Beast with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Weir gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Beast.
Beast fails to pull the fight into his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Beast is trying to work for a kimura but Weir is defending well.
Weir preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Beast looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Beast is thwarting Weir's attempts to control the position.

Weir closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
