And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takanori Gomi!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kondo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gomi is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kondo can't fight it off and eventually Gomi manages to take the fight to the floor. Kondo looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gomi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kondo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kondo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Gomi doesn't defend quickly enough and Kondo has managed to lock this one up! Can Gomi escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kondo on a fantastic submission victory.
