Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob McCaig!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCaig misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ball.
Ball throws an overhand right that lands on McCaig's shoulder, as McCaig tries to avoid the shot.
McCaig throws a looping overhand right but Ball ducks down to avoid it.
Ball misses with a telegraphed body shot
and McCaig counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ball throws the left hand but McCaig avoids the punch easily.
McCaig ducks under a wild hook from Ball.
McCaig lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ball at a distance.
Nice uppercut there from Ball.
Ball misses with a leg kick.
Ball misses with an uppercut. McCaig saw that one coming.

and McCaig counters with a nice uppercut.

Ball throws a shot from downtown. McCaig moves away and avoids it.

McCaig stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ball swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ball on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ball tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

McCaig thows a big elbow that misses.
McCaig has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
No luck for McCaig with that takedown attempt.
Ball scores with a three punch combo!
Jack Ball seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ball is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McCaig.
Ball lands a nice hook to McCaig's body. McCaig takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

McCaig lands with a nice combination. Ball backs away looking to recover.

McCaig connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ball momentarily.

Ball throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McCaig sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Ball tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and McCaig is able to avoid easily.
Ball displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McCaig.
Jack Ball has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob McCaig.
Ball uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McCaig.

McCaig changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ball looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

McCaig throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

McCaig tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McCaig has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ball is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rob McCaig will probably get the nod.

McCaig lands a nice shot that snaps Ball's head back.
McCaig lands with an uppercut that bounces Ball off the ropes and back into rage.
Ball uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McCaig has time to react.
Ball throws a hook but McCaig blocks it.
McCaig scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ball doesn't seem bothered though.

McCaig tries to free his leg and advance position but Ball is retaining full guard.
McCaig postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McCaig is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

McCaig trying to control the position from guard on top but Ball is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ball swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ball misses with a straight left.
Ball swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by McCaig.
McCaig shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McCaig is breathing heavily.
McCaig moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ball is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McCaig.
Ball throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ball walks into a stiff left hand from McCaig.
Jack Ball is winning the standup battle so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McCaig takes one on the chin but seems OK.

McCaig connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ball. Ball circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
McCaig throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and McCaig counters with a stiff right hand.
McCaig might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
McCaig lands a head kick. Ball smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Ball looks to land a left hand but McCaig moved out of range nicely.
McCaig fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ball looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
McCaig throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McCaig digs a good hook to Ball's body.
Ball walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Ball walks into a stiff left hand from McCaig.
McCaig misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jack Ball has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob McCaig.

McCaig bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McCaig tries to move to mount but Ball blocks the move with his legs.
Ball looking for a sweep but McCaig has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Ball wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McCaig.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McCaig thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Rob McCaig will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

McCaig shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ball tries to score with a low kick but McCaig moves his leg out of the way.
Ball moves away from the strike by McCaig.
Ball throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ball lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ball.
McCaig throws a right and a left that both miss.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ball throws a jab but it's blocked by McCaig.
Ball throws a hook but McCaig blocks it.
Ball smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Jack Ball has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rob McCaig is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ball scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Rob McCaig.
I've got McCaig winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
