Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Kabim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ronald Mashburn!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kabim feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mashburn wants to get back to his feet but Kabim passes into half guard.
Mashburn gets full guard.
Kabim controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kabim wants to stand but Mashburn has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kabim postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Kabim counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mashburn!

Mashburn takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kabim is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

and Kabim holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mashburn should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kabim has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mashburn uses from the top position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kabim has his foot on Mashburn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mashburn works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mashburn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Kabim counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mashburn won't be happy with that.

Kabim misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Kabim fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mashburn sprawls well initially but Kabim persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kabim tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kabim has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kabim, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
