The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Uden rushes Ad and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Van Uden jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ad walks away with a smile on his face. Van Uden gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ad shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Ad stops Van Uden from getting back to his feet.
Ad passes the guard and advances to mount!

Ad looking to secure an arm triangle but Van Uden defends it well.
Ad tries to control but Van Uden wriggling away.
Ad sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Ad prevents Van Uden from getting the reversal.

Ad working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Ad landing strikes from the mount.
Ad with the ground and pound from mount.

Ad wants to control the pace but Van Uden is squirming around nicely.

Ad jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Van Uden manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Ad is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Van Uden is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Van Uden tries to buck Ad off but Ad is having none of it.

Ad tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ad has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Van Uden is looking to reverse the position.
Van Uden is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ad has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ad is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Van Uden's half guard.
