Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tonny Hansen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Clifton tries to clinch up but Hansen circles away and keeps his distance.

Hansen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Clifton drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hansen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hansen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Clifton tries to avoid it but Hansen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Clifton to the ground. Clifton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Clifton swats away the attempt to clinch by Hansen.
Clifton misses with a takedown attempt - Hansen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Clifton tries to clinch but Hansen is having none of it.
Clifton shoots for a takedown but Hansen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Clifton is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hansen sees it coming and defends easily.
Clifton is breathing heavily.
Hansen wants to get back to his feet.
Clifton tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hansen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Clifton uses his free foot to push down on Hansen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hansen.
Hansen is trying to stand up.

Clifton is working for a guillotine from mount but Hansen frees his head quite easily.
Hansen tries to hold on but Clifton postures up.

Clifton with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Hansen's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hansen can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Hansen connects with a jab.
Hansen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Clifton has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hansen regains guard immediately.

Clifton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Clifton is pushing down on Hansen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hansen is fighting to maintain full guard but Clifton has managed to sneak the leg through.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Clifton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
