Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Perfect Plex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacare Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Plex might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Amazing. Perfect Plex had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plex is looking to clinch.
Plex tries to clinch but Souza is having none of it.

Souza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Plex's waist but Plex gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Souza off to one side.

The fight stays on the outside here - Plex looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Souza throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Plex tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Souza paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Souza drives through with a takedown into guard.

Souza drops back looking for a leg! Plex is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Plex manages to kick Souza off! Souza jumps back into Plex's guard.
Souza is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Souza is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Plex is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Plex has escaped and now he's on top!
Souza looking for a sweep. Not yet Souza, not yet.

Plex is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Plex passes into half guard.

Souza is pressing down on Plex's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Plex stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Souza looking for a guillotine here but Plex defends easily.
Plex drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Souza manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Plex has Souza in his guard.
Plex wants to sweep but no luck.

Plex is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Souza defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Plex working for a triangle but Souza defends it easily.
Plex is breathing heavily.
Souza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Plex swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Souza got a little sloppy there for a moment and Plex has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Souza has managed to get both his arms back between Plex's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jacare Souza dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Plex wants to clinch up but Souza keeps it at a distance.
Plex fails with an attempt to clinch.

Souza with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Souza throws a knee to the head but misses.
Souza avoids the elbow strike from Plex, against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Souza.
Souza has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Plex uses from the top position.
Souza manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Plex is controlling an arm, preventing Souza from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Souza working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Plex looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Souza! Submission of the night perhaps?
