Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Canti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canti has chosen Roscoe Dash - All The Way Turnt Up ft. Soulja Boy Tell'em as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Howard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlos Canti!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canti takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Howard misses with a straight right.
Canti scores with a nice head shot.
Canti just misses with a punch to the body.
Howard connects with a right hand. Canti shakes it off.

Canti gets caught flat footed, as Howard shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Howard lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Canti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Howard wants to control from the top but Canti keeps moving.
Canti is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Howard slips nicely into half guard.
Howard wants to control but Canti is keeping him busy.
Howard drops an elbow to the side of Canti's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Canti throws a nice looking combination but Howard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Canti drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Howard wants to control from the top but Canti keeps moving.
Howard lands a couple of digs.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Howard looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Canti with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Howard wants to take a breather but Canti is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Canti throws a hook to the side of Howard's head but Howard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Howard throws a right hand that Canti ducks under and follows up with a left that Canti also avoids with ease.

Canti is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Howard.

Canti takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Howard drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Howard jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Canti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Howard defends it easily.

John Howard is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Canti can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Howard controls the pace.

Canti is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Howard is aware though and is defending well.
Howard is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Howard seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Canti for as long as he can get away with.
Howard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Howard's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Howard is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Canti is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
