Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rutherford Haze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johannes Vaulen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vaulen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I Love Norwegian Country. Rutherford Haze could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Johannes Vaulen's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haze throws a right and a left that Vaulen avoids nicely.
Haze misses with a jab, cross combination.
A slow jab from Haze misses its intended target.
Vaulen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Vaulen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Haze preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Vaulen throws and elbow that misses. Haze uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vaulen's guard. Nice move by Haze!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Haze wants to get up but he can't break Vaulen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Vaulen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Vaulen looking for a guillotine here but Haze defends easily.
Vaulen is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Haze frees his head nicely. Oh but Vaulen has switched to an armbar! Haze is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
