The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akkari closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Akkari getting side control.
Silva is looking to improve his position.
Silva is trying to control but can't.
Silva is staying active underneath Akkari, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Silva is looking for a sweep. Akkari is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Silva is pressing down on Akkari's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Silva is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Akkari doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silva.
Silva takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Akkari drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Akkari has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Akkari's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Akkari manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.
Akkari stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Akkari tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Akkari has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Akkari goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Silva rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Akkari's guard! Nice work there by Silva!
Silva lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Akkari utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Silva wants to pass the guard but Akkari is keeping the position.

A close round but Leandro Akkari will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Akkari tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Akkari is staying active underneath Silva, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Silva lands a nice short elbow.
Akkari wants to get back to full guard.

Akkari moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Akkari wants to hit a switch here but Silva passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Akkari there!
