Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Alberto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silver bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Silver decides to stand up, so the ref orders Alberto to his feet.
Alberto throws a hook to the side of Silver's head but Silver sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Alberto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silver.
Silver fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alberto avoids it really well and circles away.
Alberto gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Silver counters with a left to the body.

Silver darts in and clinches Alberto up against the cage.
Alberto keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Silver's efforts to push away.

Silver shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Silver showed some decent athleticism there.

Alberto has his foot on Silver's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silver works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alberto is looking to take a break and control but Silver is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silver looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Silver drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silver jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Silver shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alberto manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Chad Silver showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Silver shoots for a double leg takedown but Alberto sprawls well. He's pushed Silver's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Silver darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Silver lands a head kick. Alberto smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Silver stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silver wants it to stay on the feet.

Silver is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Silver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Alberto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The ground and pound from Alberto seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Silver has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Alberto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silver keeps working.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carlos Alberto.
Well Silver has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
