Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Exodus Maxell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Colmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maxell comes into the arena with Oh Canada! blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Exodus Maxell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Colmen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxell fails in his attempt to clinch.
Colmen tries to bum rush Maxell with a series of wild strikes but Maxell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Colmen tries a head kick but it misses.
Maxell shoots in for a takedown but Colmen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Maxell takes a swing at Colmen's ribcage but misses.
Colmen scores with a jab to the body.
Colmen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maxell's waist but Maxell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Colmen off to one side.
Maxell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Maxell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Colmen.
Colmen misses with a few strikes there.
Colmen feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Maxell's calf.
Good leg kick by Colmen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Colmen lands a jab to the nose.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Maxell tries to clinch but Colmen is having none of it.
Colmen works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
It looks like Exodus Maxell has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maxell throws out a powerful jab.
Maxell misses with a takedown
and Colmen counters with a takedown into side control.
Maxell is breathing heavily.
Maxell tries to buck Colmen off but Colmen is having none of it.
Colmen working the head and body with strikes.
Colmen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Colmen passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Maxell!
Colmen throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Maxell has his hands clasped together but Colmen breaks the hold and Maxell is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Colmen!
