The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Stulken keeps the fight on the outside.

It looks like Jeremy Stulken has been cut.
Mir wants to clinch.
Stulken looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stulken paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stulken accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Stulken counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Stulken stands and steps away. Mir gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Stulken gets to his feet - Mir follows without any prompting.
Mir goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mir tries to roll over but Stulken keeps him under control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stulken throwing shots but Mir is blocking nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Stulken shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mir as he jumps to the side.
Jeremy Stulken is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mir clinches but Stulken breaks the clinch
and Stulken counters with a thumping low kick.

and Stulken counters with a series of strikes. Mir will be more careful next time no doubt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mir is pushing Stulken's head away, looking to escape. Stulken manages to hold on to the position though.
Mir tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Mir is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Stulken postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mir looks a forlorn figure.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mir can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mir is in a horrible position here. Stulken smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
