PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Higgs Boson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antti Isotalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boson comes to the ring accompanied by Large Hadron Rap by alpinekat. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Isotalo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boson wants to clinch.

Boson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Isotalo wants to improve his position but Boson is controlling well.
Boson is controlling the pace.
Isotalo tries to get to full guard but Boson has control of the leg.
Isotalo is trying to maintain the position but Boson is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Isotalo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Boson wants to stand up but Isotalo has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Boson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Isotalo's head.
Boson is thwarting Isotalo's attempts to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Isotalo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boson's guard.

Isotalo wants to control from the top but Boson keeps moving.
Isotalo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Boson is really struggling to control Isotalo but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Isotalo wants to control from the top but Boson keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Boson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Boson stalling in the clinch but Isotalo improves position.
Isotalo blocks an elbow strike from Boson.
Isotalo wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Isotalo is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Boson can't fight it off and eventually Isotalo manages to take the fight to the floor. Boson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Boson wants to stand and escape but Isotalo is having none of it.

Isotalo wants to pass the guard but Boson is keeping the position.
Isotalo looks gassed!
Isotalo won't allow Boson to sweep him here.
Isotalo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Isotalo wants to free his trapped foot but Boson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Boson misses with a kick to the body.
Boson doesn't manage to clinch there - Isotalo circles away.

and Isotalo counters with a takedown into side control.
Boson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Isotalo is controlling him well.
Isotalo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boson keeps working.
Boson prevents Isotalo from improving position.

Isotalo tries for a kimura but Boson is defending well.

Boson tries to bench press Isotalo off him but Isotalo keeps the position.

Isotalo has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Boson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Isotalo yanks on the arm and Boson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Isotalo.
