Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joey Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Couture shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Couture controlling the pace.

Couture is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Couture is looking to pass Johnson's guard but actually Johnson recovers to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Couture tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.
Couture throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Couture working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Couture sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Couture trying to mount his opponent but Johnson defends it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A leg kick checked by Couture.
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Couture bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Couture tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Johnson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Couture checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Couture counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Couture is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Couture is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Couture drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Couture jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Randy Couture.
Couture closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Couture pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Couture shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Couture wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.

Couture is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Couture has managed to sneak the leg through.

Couture seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Couture wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.
Couture takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Johnson is trying to stand back up but Couture is controlling him
Johnson is in trouble now - Couture has advanced to mount!
Couture is trying to take his opponent's back.
Couture trying to control but Johnson is having none of it.
Couture tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Couture sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Couture shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Couture showed some decent athleticism there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Randy Couture.

Couture clinches.
A knee to the head by Couture.
Couture stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Couture lands with a short shot to the head.
Johnson looking for a takedown.
Couture is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Couture misses with an elbow strike.
Couture digs a right hand underneath Johnson's ribcage. Johnson let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Couture lands a body shot in the clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Couture.
Couture gets underhooks to prevent Johnson's takedown attempt.
Couture pushes Johnson back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Couture stalling the fight.

Couture tightens his grip and picks Johnson up, before dumping him to the ground. Johnson manages to land in guard.
Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Couture slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Couture pushing down on Johnson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Couture shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Couture is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Johnson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Couture gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Johnson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Couture lets go of the hold and Johnson can pop his arm back in it's socket.
