The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werdum shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.
Werdum has a takedown stuffed.
Werdum fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fabricio Werdum. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Werdum feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Silva looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Werdum will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Werdum is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Werdum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Werdum drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard.
Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Werdum has wrist control.

Werdum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Werdum is tightening it up a little... Silva has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Silva reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Silva taps out! nice BJJ there by Werdum!
