Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Dos Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gil Brother (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva's entrance music is Mack the knife. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Dos Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gil Brother!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva leaves Brother with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Brother dodges the punch combination from Silva.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Brother bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sam Dos Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Brother is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brother wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brother can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brother tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.

Brother is looking to control Silva's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brother avoid being mounted?
Well, if Silva is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Brother is refusing to be controlled, as Silva sits in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva misses with an uppercut. Brother saw that one coming.

Brother closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Brother getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva tries to roll over but Brother keeps him under control.
Brother takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Brother postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silva controls Brother momentarily but Brother frees himself.
Silva has control of Brother's left arm, preventing Brother from doing any damage.
Silva wants to stand but Brother is controlling the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silva wants to stand and escape but Brother is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sam Dos Silva will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Silva throws a hook but Brother avoids it easily.

Brother shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Brother prevents Silva from getting back to his feet.
Brother is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.
Brother has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Brother thows a big elbow that misses.
Brother is looking to advance position but Silva has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Brother wants to hold on but Silva pushes him away.

Brother really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Silva content just to control the position here.
Silva avoids the attempt from Brother to control.
Brother is trying to escape the mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brother is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Brother is in all sorts of trouble here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Brother wants to control but Silva is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sam Dos Silva will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Silva throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brother checks the leg kick.
Silva lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Brother backs up against the cage.

Brother gets a takedown into half guard.
Silva pushes Brother off looking to stand but Brother dives back in and keeps control.
Brother wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it.
Brother throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.

Silva keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Brother scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Silva is pressing down on Brother's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Brother thows a big elbow that misses.
Brother trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Brother advances position into side control!
Brother takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Silva avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Brother.

Brother is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Brother wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.
Sloppy strikes there by Brother.

You can see the frustration on Silva's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Silva is trying to work for a sweep but Brother has mounted him!

Brother is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Silva has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Silva!
