Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Elric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Muscat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muscat is looking to clinch.
Elric swings for the body but Muscat moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Muscat looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Muscat lands a head kick!
Muscat tries a head kick but it misses.

Elric shoots in and bounces Muscat off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Elric forces his way into half guard.
Elric scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Muscat manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Muscat tries to clinch up but Elric circles away and keeps his distance.
Trent Muscat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Muscat pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Elric jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Elric closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Elric lands in his opponent's guard.

Muscat has his foot on Elric's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Elric works his way back into a safe position though.

Muscat is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Muscat is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Elric stands up from Muscat's guard - Elric perhaps looking for a knockout.

Muscat throws a looping overhand right but Elric ducks down to avoid it.

Elric shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

It looks like Trent Muscat has been cut.
Elric is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Muscat can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Muscat is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Elric lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Muscat hang on?

Elric jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Muscat manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Elric working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Elric has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Muscat checks a leg kick.

Elric shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Elric is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Elric looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Muscat with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Elric lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Muscat is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Elric scores with a couple of nice shots.
Elric drops an elbow to the side of Muscat's head.
Elric takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Muscat looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Elric looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Muscat with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Muscat has hold of Elric's hands but Elric slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Elric has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Muscat is trying desperately to improve position.

The referee warns Muscat that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Elric lands a big shot there that rocks Muscat but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Muscat is trying to escape the mount.
Elric postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Muscat looks a forlorn figure.

Elric cracks Muscat with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
A big strike lands for Elric! That's really hurt Muscat and he's turned his back - Elric keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Elric jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
