The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose swats away the attempt to clinch by van tol.
Rose slaps away a takedown attempt from van tol, before circling back to the center of the mat.
van tol should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Rose pulls out of a head kick attempt.
van tol tries to close the distance and clinch but Rose swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
van tol moves in looking to clinch but Rose pushes him off.
van tol shoots in for a takedown but Rose shows good takedown defense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - van tol has eaten all the pies!
Rose stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rose wants it to stay on the feet.
Cory Rose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of menno van tol.
van tol uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rose.

van tol shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rose pinned against the cage. Rose gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rose is looking to clinch but van tol is avoiding it.
Donk. Rose catches van tol right on the button with a cross.
van tol turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from van tol.
Rose lands a jab to the head.
Rose is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
