Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Roth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christian Slaughter!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Roth, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Roth closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Slaughter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Roth is working away from the top position though.
Roth is trying to control the action in half guard but Slaughter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Slaughter gets full guard.
Roth forces his way into half guard.
Slaughter regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Roth.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Slaughter is on top in guard.

Roth wants to sweep here but Slaughter controlling him for the moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Roth avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Slaughter.
Slaughter wants to pass to mount but Roth is defending the position.
Slaughter tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Roth.
Slaughter passes to full mount!
Slaughter fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Slaughter throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Roth is bucking up trying to escape but Slaughter cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Roth is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christian Slaughter dominated that round.

Slaughter takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Slaughter moves out of range as Roth strikes.
Eddie Roth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roth takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Slaughter takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Slaughter gets a clinch.
Roth drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Roth has Slaughter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Slaughter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Roth scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Roth uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Slaughter.
Slaughter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Roth circles away quickly and effectively.
Slaughter connects with a jab.
Roth shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Roth shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slaughter but Slaughter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Roth. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Roth shoots for a double leg takedown but Slaughter sprawls well. He's pushed Roth's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Roth bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Slaughter's head backwards.
Roth looks to land a combination but Slaughter avoids it well.
Slaughter's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Slaughter duly obliges.
Roth drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Roth tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Slaughter swivels and escapes.

Roth avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fighters circle momentarily. Roth darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Roth shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slaughter as he jumps to the side.

Slaughter looks to land a combination. Roth sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Roth throws a right hand that Slaughter ducks under and follows up with a left that Slaughter also avoids with ease.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Slaughter swings away with a body shot that misses
and Roth cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Roth is trying hard to land a takedown here. Slaughter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Roth.
Roth looks to land a right hand but Slaughter moved out of range.
Roth shoots in for a takedown but Slaughter shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Christian Slaughter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Roth's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Good exchange - Slaughter coming out on top.
Slaughter lands a slapping body shot.
Roth misses with a looping left.
Roth thows a body shot but no joy.

Slaughter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Slaughter fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Roth checks it well.

Roth is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

A solid leg kick lands there for Slaughter.
Slaughter leaves Roth with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Slaughter cracks Roth with a right hand to the side of the head.
Roth fails with a takedown attempt.
Roth steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Slaughter.
Roth throws a hook but Slaughter avoids it easily.
Slaughter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slaughter wants it to stay on the feet.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Slaughter lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Roth has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Roth and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Slaughter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A decent looking cross lands there for Roth.
Roth moves out of range of the strikes.
A slow jab from Roth misses its intended target.
Slaughter looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Roth misses with a shot to the body
and Slaughter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Roth walks into a stiff left hand from Slaughter.
Slaughter swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Roth counters with a shoot takedown. Slaughter fights it but they end up in guard.

Roth is looking to work some ground and pound but Slaughter has wrist control.

Slaughter is looking for a triangle but Roth pushes his legs off easily.
