Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kumina Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juha Virtanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Virtanen has chosen Muistipalapelit by Stam1na as his entrance music. Juha Virtanen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kumina Sato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Juha Virtanen!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Virtanen takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Virtanen looks for a takedown but Sato sprawls well.
Sato with a hook.

and Sato decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Virtanen's guard.
Sato wants to control from the top but Virtanen keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Virtanen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sato is aware though and is defending well.

Sato might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sato lands with a thumping leg kick.
Sato clobbers Virtanen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Virtanen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sato to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Sato thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sato is looking to work some ground and pound but Virtanen has wrist control.
Sato lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Virtanen on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Sato is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Virtanen's shoulder. That is not cool.
Sato lands an elbow.

Sato is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Virtanen has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sato advances to full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sato controlling his opponent.

Sato lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sato has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sato lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Virtanen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Sato drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sato controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Sato stands up over Virtanen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Sato's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Sato pushes down on Virtanen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kumina Sato overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sato's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Virtanen defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Sato.

Sato has isolated one of Virtanen's arms. Virtanen looking to fight him off but Sato twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
