Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Smelly Nickers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Gouveia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gouveia is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Leave Before The Lights Come On . Smelly Nickers is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Smelly Nickers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Gouveia!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickers decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gouveia kicks Nickers off and gets back to his feet.
A nice inside leg kick there by Gouveia. That's going to slow Nickers down.
Nickers gets caught flat footed, as Gouveia shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Nickers keeping moving, preventing Gouveia from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nickers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gouveia trying to control but Nickers is working from the bottom.
Nickers is trying to keep Gouveia in close.

Nickers keeping full guard, as Gouveia tries to pass.
Gouveia tries to stand but Nickers is controlling from the bottom.
Gouveia looking to sit in guard and control but Nickers gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Gouveia pushes Nickers off and gets back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nickers closes the distance and clinches up with Gouveia, looking for a takedown. Nickers pushes Gouveia against the cage but Gouveia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nickers is breathing heavily.
Gouveia shoots for a takedown but Nickers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nickers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nickers shoots in and bounces Gouveia off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Nickers thows a big elbow that misses.
Gouveia manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gouveia has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gouveia fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Gouveia landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Gouveia has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nickers is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Smelly Nickers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Gouveia.
Nickers is trying to break the clinch but Gouveia has him pressed against the cage.
Nickers wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Nickers tries to land a knee to the head but Gouveia blocks with his arms.

Gouveia gets control of Nickers's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gouveia will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Gouveia wants to stand up but Nickers is controlling him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nickers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nickers throws a big right hand that misses.
Gouveia preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Gouveia manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gouveia shoots in and drives through. Nickers sprawls well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Nickers tries to clinch but Gouveia moves out of range.
Gouveia closes the distance and clinches.
Nickers blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Gouveia misses with an elbow over the top.
Gouveia tries for a takedown. No joy.
Gouveia escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gouveia shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nickers defends it nicely.
Nickers throws a head kick but Gouveia moves out of range.
Gouveia shoots in and drives through. Nickers sprawls well.
Gouveia moves out of range of the strikes.
Gouveia bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gouveia fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nickers connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gouveia's hands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rodrigo Gouveia will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gouveia tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nickers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gouveia somewhat.
Gouveia blocks a head kick by Nickers.
Nickers looks to score with a jab to the body but Gouveia is just out of range.
A head kick misses from Gouveia.
Nickers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nickers takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nickers prevents the takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gouveia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Some wild striking there from Gouveia.
Nickers circles away from the clinch attempt
and Nickers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nickers falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gouveia counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Gouveia wants to pass to mount but Nickers is defending the position.
Gouveia throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gouveia not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gouveia stops Nickers from getting back to his feet.
Gouveia gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Nickers tries for a takedown but Gouveia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gouveia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nickers paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gouveia has his takedown stuffed
and Nickers counters by moving into the clinch.
Smelly Nickers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Gouveia.
Gouveia goes for a takedown attempt but Nickers pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gouveia throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nickers was covering up waiting for the punch and Gouveia finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gouveia might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nickers kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Nickers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gouveia is controlling him.
Gouveia passes into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gouveia looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nickers with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gouveia tries to pass to full mount but Nickers defends it.
Gouveia looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Gouveia not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodrigo Gouveia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Gouveia stalks Nickers and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nickers's face. Nickers staggers backwards, shaken.
Nickers shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gouveia defends it nicely.
Gouveia gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nickers to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Nickers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gouveia is keeping the position for now.
Gouveia kicks Nickers off and gets to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gouveia thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Nickers if he has to take too many more of those.
Gouveia has managed to clinch.

Nickers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nickers looks to clinch
and Gouveia counters with a left and a right that stings Nickers.
The fighters circling - Nickers throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gouveia moves into the clinch.
Gouveia jumps guard but Nickers stands there with Gouveia around his waist. Gouveia gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Gouveia tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Nickers just stands there and leans against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Gouveia.
Nickers tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Nickers breaks from the clinch.
Gouveia feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gouveia drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nickers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gouveia has Nickers in his guard.

Nickers wants to control from the top but Gouveia keeps moving.
Nickers lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Rodrigo Gouveia has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nickers is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gouveia.
Smelly Nickers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gouveia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nickers but Nickers pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gouveia drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Nickers managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Gouveia.
Nickers takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Gouveia decides to stand back up. Gouveia steps back and let's Nickers get back to his feet.
Nickers thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rodrigo Gouveia is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Gouveia takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
And that's the end of the fight!
Rodrigo Gouveia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gouveia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
