Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Castellaneta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Standa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Castellaneta has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Castellaneta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Standa!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castellaneta avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Standa tries to clinch but Castellaneta is having none of it.
Castellaneta scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Standa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Castellaneta.
Castellaneta clobbers Standa with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Castellaneta looks to land a left hand but Standa moved out of range nicely.

and Castellaneta decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Standa's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Castellaneta drops back looking for a leg! Standa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Standa manages to kick Castellaneta off! Castellaneta jumps back into Standa's guard.

Castellaneta is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Standa still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Standa has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Castellaneta gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Castellaneta has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Standa doesn't defend quickly enough and Castellaneta has managed to lock this one up! Can Standa escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Castellaneta on a fantastic submission victory.
