Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Rask (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bosse Andersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Rask!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bosse Andersson!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rask fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Andersson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Andersson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Rask gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Rask pulls guard effortlessly.

Rask isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Andersson stacks Rask on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Andersson!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rask is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Andersson is controlling him well.
Andersson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rask to see if he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Rask's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Andersson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rask sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Andersson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Rask remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Horrible takedown by Rask or perhaps it was just good defense by Andersson which made him look bad.

and Andersson counters with a shoot takedown. Rask fights it but they end up in guard.

Andersson is nestled in close to Rask, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Rask is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
