Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matthias Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny vogolsain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). vogolsain is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Nightmare. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hughes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hughes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on vogolsain, up you get!
vogolsain misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
vogolsain tries for a takedown but Hughes circles away easily

and Hughes counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in vogolsain's guard now.

vogolsain is looking for a triangle but Hughes pushes his legs off easily.
Hughes thows a big elbow that misses.

vogolsain is working an open guard so Hughes takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Hughes rushes vogolsain and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hughes is trying to break the clinch but vogolsain has him pressed against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Hughes just misses with a elbow thrown towards vogolsain's brow.
vogolsain has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hughes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

vogolsain pulls guard effortlessly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hughes controlling from the top position.
Hughes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hughes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

vogolsain looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hughes has picked vogolsain up and slammed him! vogolsain can't keep hold of the triangle and Hughes manages to pass to side control!

Hughes is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. vogolsain looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hughes gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. vogolsain is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hughes lets go of the hold and vogolsain can pop his arm back in it's socket.
