Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Lock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Will West!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

West gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lock to score an easy takedown into full guard.
West is adopting a defensive guard.
West manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
West sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Lock's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Lock on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lock tries to get out of the position.

Lock is bucking up trying to escape but West cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
West looking to finish Lock with some ground and pound. This is bad for Lock!

West can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lock is looking to escape.

West misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
West lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

West looking to control but Lock is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lock takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Lock tries to hold on but West pushes him away.

West lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

West tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lock knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for West on the ground.

West has control of Lock's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lock regains control of the situation pretty easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lock shoots for a double leg takedown but West sprawls well. He's pushed Lock's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lock works over West's head and body with a nice combination.
West slips under a jab.

West moves into range and clinches up with Lock.

West manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
West bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lock's guard.
West trying to control the position from guard on top but Lock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lock avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

West wants to control from the top but Lock keeps moving.
West passes Lock's left leg - he's now in half guard.
West works his way into full mount!

West is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lock is surviving well by controlling West's body position as best he can.

West lands with some strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

West connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
West wants to control the pace but Lock is squirming around nicely.
West with shots to the head and body - Lock looks very uncomfortable down there.

Lock is trying desperately to improve position.
West putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Lock has left one of his arms exposed and West doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Lock screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
