PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between iam getcha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and pete peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). getcha is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, iam getcha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, pete peterson!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
getcha shoots in for a takedown but peterson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
getcha is breathing heavily.
peterson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and getcha counters with a three punch combo that has peterson backing up. peterson nods at getcha to acknowledge the strikes.
peterson looks for a takedown but getcha sprawls well.
peterson shoots in for a double leg but getcha sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
iam getcha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of pete peterson.
peterson fails with the takedown.

getcha gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows peterson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
getcha looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but peterson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
peterson is pressing down on getcha's thigh, looking to free his foot. getcha is holding on for now.
peterson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but getcha does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

peterson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
peterson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as getcha is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
peterson wants to control the pace but getcha is squirming around nicely.

peterson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, pete peterson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

peterson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

peterson clinches up with getcha and pushes him back against the cage.

peterson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

peterson decides to return to a standing position.
peterson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
peterson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
getcha keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and peterson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in getcha's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

getcha has his foot on peterson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. peterson works his way back into a safe position though.

peterson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

getcha leaves peterson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

iam getcha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
peterson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by peterson.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

peterson has taken the fight to the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on getcha's face as he tries to break the clinch.

peterson pulls getcha into guard.
peterson wants to sweep but no luck.
getcha trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
pete peterson has got the better of the ground game so far.
peterson is controlling getcha's posture.
getcha postures up.
peterson has control of getcha's left arm, preventing getcha from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

pete peterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

peterson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
peterson tries to hold on but getcha postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
peterson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
peterson avoids a strike by getcha and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in getcha's guard! Fantastic escape!

peterson wants to control but getcha is keeping him busy.

peterson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so getcha is just riding it out for now. peterson eventually gives up the hold.
peterson is trying to control. getcha wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
getcha might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

peterson works his foot free and advances to mount.
The referee warns getcha that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

peterson wants to control the pace but getcha is squirming around nicely.
getcha reaches up to try and control the position but peterson seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! getcha rolls and tries to escape and now peterson has his back!
getcha tries to escape but peterson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
getcha looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
peterson has getcha flattened out and is raining down punches.
getcha is keeping busy.
peterson is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften getcha up.

I would just about give that final round to pete peterson.
Well peterson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
