The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mayweather looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mayweather struggling a bit here.
Villa swings around for an armbar but Mayweather sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Villa's guard.
Mayweather keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Villa's head.
Villa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Villa looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mayweather wants to control from the top but Villa keeps moving.

Mayweather wants to stand but Villa has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Mayweather with a flurry of punches that miss.
Villa controls Mayweather momentarily but Mayweather frees himself.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mayweather ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Villa moves away.
Mayweather will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mayweather fails with a takedown attempt.
Villa avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mayweather lands with an uppercut that bounces Villa off the cage and back into rage.
Mayweather scores with a hook.
Villa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Villa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Villa wants to finish this one by submission but Mayweather is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Villa.
Villa swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mayweather is now in Villa's guard. A big mistake from Villa there, giving up the dominant position!

Mayweather stands up and waves to Villa to follow him.
Mayweather works Villa's body with a nice hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mayweather looks to land a left hand but Villa moved out of range nicely.
Mayweather throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Mayweather lands a big right hand that sends Villa crashing to the mat! Mayweather stays standing though and waves Villa back to his feet!
