Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bas Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Egans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bas Boom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gerald Egans!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Egans tries to clinch but Boom moves out of range.

Egans tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boom swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Egans fails with a takedown attempt.

Egans gets the takedown into side control.
Egans looks up at the clock and then as Boom takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Egans smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Boom really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
You can see the frustration on Boom's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Boom is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Egans wants to free his trapped foot but Boom is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Boom gets full guard.
Boom thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Egans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boom swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boom tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Egans loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boom looking for a sweep. Not yet Boom, not yet.
Boom bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Egans's guard.

Egans has his foot on Boom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Boom works his way back into a safe position though.

Egans has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Egans working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boom doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boom manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Boom feints and as Egans raises his hands in defense, Boom changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Egans is trying to control the position but Boom postures up.

Egans not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Egans looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Boom lands a couple of elbows.
Boom keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Egans's head.
Boom looking to sit in guard and control but Egans gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That was a close round but I would say that Bas Boom will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Egans manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boom manages to get himself to full guard.

Bas Boom overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boom is on top in guard.
Boom is working Egans over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Egans is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Boom is aware though and is defending well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Boom is trying hard to land a takedown here. Egans sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bas Boom dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Boom is sitting in close to Egans's body. Egans has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Boom is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Boom is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Egans.
