Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Austin Powers!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers fails with the takedown.
Powers closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dias circles away.
Dias works the jab nicely.
Powers moves in looking to clinch but Dias pushes him off.
Powers is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Dias throws a nice looking combination but Powers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dias misses with a few strikes there.
Good exchange - Dias coming out on top.
Powers is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dias sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Powers shoots for a double leg takedown but Dias sprawls well. He's pushed Powers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Powers shoots in looking for a takedown. Dias tries to sprawl out of it but Powers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dias manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Powers shoots in but no luck this time.
Powers tries to close the distance and clinch but Dias swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dias throws a nice looking combination but Powers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dias fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dias throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Powers.
Powers takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Dias lands a head shot.
Powers avoids a punch combination nicely.
Powers tries for a takedown but Dias sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A head kick misses from Powers.
Dias thuds a left hand into Powers's body.
Dias lands a jab to the nose.
Dias throws a series of punches but Powers moves out of range.

Dias cracks Powers with a right hand to the side of the head.
Dias throws an overhand right that lands on Powers's shoulder, as Powers tries to avoid the shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Powers looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Powers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Powers drops back looking for a leg! Dias is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dias manages to kick Powers off! Powers jumps back into Dias's guard.
Dias is looking to stand up but Powers isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Dias dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Powers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dias pinned against the cage. Dias gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dias stalks Powers and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Powers's face. Powers staggers backwards, shaken.
Dias misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dias thuds his right hand into Powers's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Dias throws a jab but it's blocked by Powers.

Dias throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dias takes a swing at Powers's ribcage but misses.
Dias lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Dave Dias is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dias lands with a cross.
Dave Dias is winning the standup battle so far.
Dias tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Powers was well out of range. Poor timing from Dias.
Dave Dias is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dias throws a big shot that misses.
Dias lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Powers circles away quickly and effectively.
Powers dodges the punch combination from Dias.

The crowd cheers as Dias lands an impressive looking overhand right. Powers doesn't seem phased though.

Dias scores with a hook to the body. Powers takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Dias chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Powers can pounce on him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Powers moves away from the strike by Dias.

No joy there for Dias, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dias misses with a jab, cross combination.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BOOM! Powers connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Powers looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Dias avoids a strike by Powers and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Powers's guard! Fantastic escape!
Dias tries to stand but Powers is controlling from the bottom.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Powers wants to sweep but no luck.

Dias stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dias wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Powers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Dias is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Powers has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Powers throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Powers swings around for an armbar but Dias sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Powers's guard.
Powers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Powers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dias doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dias manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Powers wants to control the position but Dias says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Dias tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Powers.

Dias throws the left hand but Powers avoids the punch easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dias tries to bum rush Powers with a series of wild strikes but Powers uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Powers drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dias manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Powers has Dias in his guard.

Dias wants to stand but Powers has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Powers controls Dias momentarily but Dias frees himself.
