The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes throws a right and a left that Heartless avoids nicely.

Heartless got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hughes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Heartless has managed to get both his arms back between Hughes's legs - danger averted.

Hughes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Heartless manages to get himself to full guard.
