The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Red gets caught flat footed, as GOMA shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Red decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in GOMA's guard.

Red decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
GOMA shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Red counters by clinching up.
GOMA prevents Red from breaking the clinch.
Red tries to pull guard but GOMA holds him up against the cage and eventually Red drops back down to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Red wants to stand but GOMA is controlling the position.

GOMA decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and GOMA cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Red changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. GOMA tries to avoid it but Red manages to keep hold of a leg and drag GOMA to the ground. GOMA escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
TAKAMORI GOMA has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damen Red.

and GOMA counters with a slapping leg kick.

Red shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Red is taking a breather. GOMA says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

and GOMA counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Red throws a predictable looking body shot
and GOMA counters with a one-two to the body.

GOMA gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Red to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Red thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Red throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as GOMA works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Red stands up and waves to GOMA to follow him.
Red shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and GOMA counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by GOMA.

Red moves out of range as GOMA throws a body kick.
GOMA circles away from the clinch attempt.
GOMA dodges the punch combination from Red.
GOMA throws an overhand right that lands on Red's shoulder, as Red tries to avoid the shot.

Red decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Red uses his free foot to push down on GOMA's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for GOMA.

I would just about give that final round to Damen Red.
