PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Serb Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrea Erra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erra has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Andrea Erra is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrea Erra!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erra looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Erra swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cop uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Erra.
Erra lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cop circles away quickly and effectively.
Cop throws a head kick that misses.
Erra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Erra wants it to stay on the feet.

Cop has closed the distance and engaged Erra in a clinch.
Erra is looking to break free of the clinch but Cop has double underhooks.
Cop fails to pull guard.
Erra looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Cop fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Serb Cop. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cop manages to pull guard.
Cop wants to get back to his feet but Erra is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Erra trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cop's guard.

Erra looks gassed!
Cop is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Erra is controlling him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cop on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cop tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Erra connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Erra swinging wildly here.
Cop tries to clinch up.
Cop blocks a low kick nicely.
Cop has a takedown stuffed.
The fighters circling - Erra throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cop slips a jab from Erra.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cop looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A big right from Erra misses.
Andrea Erra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Erra misses with the combination.
Erra throws a lazy right hand but Cop sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cop displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Erra throws out the jab.
Cop thumps Erra with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Serb Cop dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cop is defended easily by Erra.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cop checks a leg kick.
A low kick from Erra misses

and Cop moves into the clinch.
Erra misses with a short punch on the inside.
Cop landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Cop tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Erra smiles and moves away.
Erra circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cop tries to close the distance and clinch but Erra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Erra is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cop fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Serb Cop. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cop clinches up against the cage.
Erra is trying to break the clinch but Cop is controlling him.
Cop tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Erra smiles and moves away.
Cop tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cop feints a jab and as Erra dips his head, Cop unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Erra right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Erra falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Cop smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Serb Cop!
