Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xuribiba Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Echavarria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hector Echavarria told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xuribiba Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hector Echavarria!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Echavarria fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Echavarria. Echavarria gets slowly back to his feet.
Echavarria stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Echavarria wants it to stay on the feet.
Echavarria feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Echavarria drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard.

Echavarria pushes a forearm under Silva's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Silva is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
