Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ernie Macmillan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilyha Porunov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Ilyha Porunov enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ernie Macmillan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ilyha Porunov!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Porunov or perhaps it was just good defense by Macmillan which made him look bad.
Porunov scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Porunov goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Porunov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Macmillan's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Macmillan trying to keep a closed guard but Porunov is proving a slippery customer.
Porunov tries to free his leg and advance position but Macmillan is retaining full guard.
Porunov wants to control from the top but Macmillan keeps moving.
Porunov connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Macmillan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Macmillan is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Porunov fails to land the takedown.
Macmillan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Porunov but Porunov pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Macmillan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Macmillan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ilyha Porunov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Porunov lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

and Macmillan counters with a nice low kick that buckles Porunov's knee momentarily.
Macmillan shoots in but Porunov avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Porunov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Macmillan to the mat! Macmillan manages to get full guard.

Porunov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Porunov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Macmillan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Macmillan controls Porunov momentarily but Porunov frees himself.

and Macmillan counters with a good low kick that Porunov was not able to check.
Ernie Macmillan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilyha Porunov.
Macmillan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Porunov's head.
Macmillan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Porunov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Macmillan wants to control the pace but Porunov is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ernie Macmillan will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Macmillan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Porunov!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Macmillan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Porunov as he avoids it easily.

Macmillan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Porunov moves into range and clinches up with Macmillan.
Macmillan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Porunov.
Porunov is pressed up against the cage. Macmillan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Porunov down to the mat. Porunov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Porunov tries to clinch up.
Porunov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Macmillan throws a head kick that misses.

and Macmillan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Porunov's guard.

Porunov has control of Macmillan's left arm, preventing Macmillan from doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ernie Macmillan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilyha Porunov.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Macmillan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Porunov tries to avoid it but Macmillan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Porunov to the ground. Porunov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Macmillan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Porunov is fending him off so far but Macmillan persists. Nope, Porunov circles away and we're back to standing.

Macmillan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Porunov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Macmillan wanted to stand there but Porunov had control of the position.

Ernie Macmillan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Macmillan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
