Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Volk Han (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Han has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Kevin Johnson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Volk Han's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kevin Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Volk Han!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson lands a really nice looking cross but Han seems unphased.
Johnson throws a head kick but Han moves out of range.
A swing and a miss from Han.

Johnson moves into the clinch.

Johnson drags the fight down to the ground.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Han can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Han trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Han looks gassed!
Johnson wants to sweep here but Han controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Johnson lands with a slapping head kick.

Johnson cracks Han with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Johnson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Han to stand back up!

Han is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him?
Johnson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Han pulls his leg out and moves away.
Han seems to have recovered his senses.

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown. Han fights it but they end up in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Johnson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Han for as long as he can get away with.

Johnson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Han's half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Kevin Johnson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Han tries to keep at a distance but Johnson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Han manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Han has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.
Han is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Johnson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Johnson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
