Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Gahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Go Kashima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave Gahan is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Gahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Go Kashima!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kashima fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gahan misses with a wild combination.
Gahan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gahan swinging wildly here.

Gahan wants to clinch up but Kashima keeps it at a distance.
Gahan clinches but Kashima breaks the clinch
and Kashima counters with a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Kashima counters with a shoot takedown. Gahan fights it but they end up in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kashima wants to take a breather but Gahan is having none of it.

Kashima is working for a kimura but Gahan is defending it quite comfortably.
Kashima is just content to waste time from the top position. Gahan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gahan tries to close the distance and clinch but Kashima swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kashima shoots in for a takedown but Gahan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gahan wants to slow Kashima down by chopping away at his legs.

so Kashima counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Kashima is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gahan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gahan has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kashima is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gahan defends well.
Kashima tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Gahan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kashima on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gahan wants to control from the top but Kashima keeps moving.
Gahan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Kashima throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Kashima tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gahan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kashima can't escape the position.

Kashima manages to get to full guard.

Kashima has his foot on Gahan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gahan works his way back into a safe position though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Kashima shoots in looking for a takedown. Gahan tries to sprawl out of it but Kashima keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Gahan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kashima keeps the fight on the outside.

Gahan punishes Kashima's body with a nice straight punch.
Kashima fails with a takedown attempt.

Dave Gahan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Go Kashima.

Kashima takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kashima needs to keep his hands up - Gahan had a free shot at his head there.

Kashima takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Kashima is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

I would just about give that final round to Go Kashima.
I think Kashima has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
