PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sun Tzu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devin Roundhouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roundhouse is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Good Girls Gone Bad by Cobra Starship. Sun Tzu had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sun Tzu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Devin Roundhouse!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tzu looks to land a left hand but Roundhouse moved out of range nicely.
Tzu misses with a body shot.
Tzu cracks a nice hook into Roundhouse's ribs.
Tzu swings for the body but Roundhouse moves out of range.
Roundhouse needs to keep his hands up - Tzu had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Devin Roundhouse has been cut.
Tzu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roundhouse manages to avoid it.
Tzu throws a one two combo.
Tzu fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Tzu waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Roundhouse.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tzu lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Roundhouse closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tzu circles away.

Roundhouse paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Roundhouse moves out of range of the strikes.

Roundhouse closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Tzu wants to control but Roundhouse is keeping busy.
Roundhouse uses his free foot to push down on Tzu's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tzu.

Roundhouse throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Tzu takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Roundhouse sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Roundhouse lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Tzu tries to lock up and control but Roundhouse gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Tzu throws the left hand but Roundhouse avoids the punch easily.
Tzu takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Tzu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Roundhouse.

and Roundhouse counters with a series of strikes. Tzu will be more careful next time no doubt.

Roundhouse looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tzu with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's time! Tzu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Tzu connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Tzu takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Roundhouse displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tzu throws out the jab.

Roundhouse takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Roundhouse pushes down on Tzu's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Roundhouse is looking to take a break and control but Tzu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Roundhouse remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Roundhouse makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Tzu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Roundhouse moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Roundhouse counters with a three punch combo that has Tzu backing up. Tzu nods at Roundhouse to acknowledge the strikes.
Sun Tzu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tzu looks to throw the jab but Roundhouse is out of range.

and Roundhouse counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sun Tzu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Roundhouse moves away from the strike by Tzu.

Devin Roundhouse comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Roundhouse winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
