Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carlos Bezerra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Fernandez!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bezerra throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fernandez was covering up waiting for the punch and Bezerra finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fernandez looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Bezerra is looking to stand up but Fernandez won't let him.
Bezerra trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Fernandez can't keep his opponent in guard - Bezerra advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Bezerra wants to stand but Fernandez has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Bezerra shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bezerra was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bezerra takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bezerra wants to take Fernandez's back here but Fernandez is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Bezerra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bezerra seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fernandez for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Fernandez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bezerra looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fernandez is breathing heavily.

Bezerra closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Well, if Bezerra is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
