The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis misses with a looping right.
Davis works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

It looks like luis eduardo almeida has been cut.
almeida lands with a cross.

Davis drops almeida with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but almeida looks back up at him and smiles so Davis waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

almeida moves into range and clinches up with Davis.
Davis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
almeida tries to work over Davis's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

almeida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Davis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but almeida manages to avoid it.
almeida looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thomas Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
almeida uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Davis.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Davis. almeida does a little dance to reset his feet.

Davis lands a big uppercut and almeida crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but almeida looks OK. Davis waves almeida back to his feet!

Davis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Oh almeida is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Davis connects with a nice cross there... almeida is looking wobbly and Davis recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send almeida to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Davis jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
