Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matti Koskela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Inge Grepp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matti Koskela has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matti Koskela!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Inge Grepp!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koskela looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Koskela takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Koskela rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Grepp moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Grepp avoids a punch combination nicely.
Koskela ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Koskela lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Grepp circles away quickly and effectively.
Koskela tries to clinch but Grepp is having none of it.
Grepp tries to score a power double leg takedown but Koskela sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Grepp somewhat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grepp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Grepp drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Grepp jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Koskela knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grepp on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Koskela wants to clinch but Grepp slips to the side

and Grepp decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Koskela's guard.

Grepp postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Grepp thows a big elbow that misses.
Grepp keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Koskela's head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Inge Grepp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Koskela gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Grepp looks for a takedown but Koskela sprawls well.

Grepp is looking for a kimura but Koskela is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Grepp to get the leverage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Koskela pushes off an throws an elbow but Grepp leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Grepp has Koskela pressed against the cage, preventing Koskela from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Grepp pulls guard effortlessly.
Grepp has control of Koskela's left arm, preventing Koskela from doing any damage.
Koskela tries to stand but Grepp is controlling from the bottom.

Grepp has his foot on Koskela's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Koskela works his way back into a safe position though.

Grepp lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Koskela!

Grepp cracks Koskela with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Grepp lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Koskela squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Grepp is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Koskela can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Inge Grepp is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Grepp moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Koskela has worked his arm free - good work by Koskela!

Inge Grepp comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Grepp winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
