PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Campbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dong Zhuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Campbell comes to the cage accompanied by Steel Panther - Party all Day. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Campbell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dong Zhuo!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhuo wants to clinch up but Campbell keeps it at a distance.
Zhuo misses with a kick to the body.
Zhuo takes one to the side of the head.
Campbell will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Campbell clobbers Zhuo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Zhuo takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Zhuo tries to clinch up but Campbell circles away and keeps his distance.
Zhuo swings away with a body shot that misses

and Campbell counters with a single leg into guard. Zhuo didn't expect that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Campbell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Campbell looking to sit in guard and control but Zhuo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Zhuo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zhuo stopping the sweep attempt from Campbell.

Zhuo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Campbell looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Campbell looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Campbell!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zhuo prevents Campbell from moving into mount.
Zhuo is trying to get back to half guard.
Zhuo regains half guard there - taking advantage of Campbell's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Campbell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Campbell is looking to stall here but Zhuo recovers full guard.
Campbell trying to move into half guard but instead Zhuo has managed to sweep!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Zhuo passes Campbell's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Zhuo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Zhuo is working for a submission of some sort.
Campbell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Campbell tries to get out of the position.

Campbell is trying to maintain the position but Zhuo is very close to passing his half guard.
Campbell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zhuo on the ground.
Zhuo prevents Campbell from improving his position.

Campbell is defending against the submission attempts here by Zhuo.
Zhuo tries to pass to full mount but Campbell defends it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Campbell is looking to improve his position.
Campbell is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zhuo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Campbell actively working from the bottom here.

Zhuo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Campbell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zhuo.

Zhuo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Campbell tried to score with a low kick but Zhuo checks it.
Campbell lands with a nice body punch.
Zhuo has his takedown stuffed
and Campbell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Zhuo takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Campbell lands a right hook to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
An inside leg kick from Campbell misses.
Campbell scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Zhuo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Campbell keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Campbell scores with a shot to the body.
Zhuo is breathing heavily.
A left lands for Campbell.
A jab from Campbell finds it's way through Zhuo's defenses.

The crowd cheers as Campbell lands an impressive looking overhand right. Zhuo doesn't seem phased though.
Zhuo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Zhuo is rocked!
Zhuo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Campbell. Campbell obviously looking to wear him down.
Zhuo is still on wobbly legs! Can Campbell finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Campbell lands a brutal uppercut that launches Zhuo off his feet! Zhuo tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
